The Power of Daily Affirmations

Ok… so who hasn’t dragged themselves out of bed just to find themselves crawling back into it?

You know you have a big day ahead of you and you’re thinking about all that you have to face. All you want to do is bury yourself in bed with the hope that nobody will find you. You feel like you just don’t want to be messed with; you don’t want anyone to call; you just want to be left completely alone; you don’t want to be held accountable for anything. TRUST ME, that’s normal and you’re not alone. Who doesn’t feel that way from time to time? Don’t fool yourself, we all go through it in some way, shape, or form. How you handle it, though, is the answer to get you through the day. First of all, don’t be so hard on yourself. It’s ok to feel that way. Just learn and know how to cope when it arises.

Affirmations can be used to “change your thinking, change your life.” The importance of having them is to make sure that whatever affirmation you choose, you truly believe the words. When you believe it, you can achieve it.

Wake up with a positive mindsetThe reality is that how you start your day is the direction in which your day will surely end up. It’s up to you to create the trajectory. You essentially are in control of how your day will end up. Do you ever have that moment where it starts off wrong and it just dominoes down as everything falls apart in front of you. That’s called the “law of attraction.” So, if you want your day to be the best day possible, start it off right with affirmations – maybe a quick “me time” in the morning. Allow yourself time to get up and know that it starts with YOU. We wake up with the mentality of serving others and go right to work. If you will wake up and take a good timeout just for YOU, you will notice a shift in your day. We personally need the attention that we never give ourselves. By serving yourself first, it gives you a feeling of accomplishment and reminds you that you matter.

Be intentional with your words. Know that what you’re saying and how you speak is true to who you are. Don’t expect so much out of yourself; be honest and truthful, because, remember, words carry hidden meanings.

I often hear people saying “fake it ‘til you make it.” I realized after a while those words are just as powerful in the way you receive them and I didn’t find joy in saying FAKE IT ‘til you make it. There’s nothing fake about what I’m doing. So, I decided to go with “FAITH it ‘til you make it”. That has become my new motto in life. Your faith, even the size of a mustard seed, can move mountains. That affirmation made more sense to me than fake it ‘til you make it. Faith is so much more powerful, positive and motivating than “faking” which means to me something that isn’t true. Start your day being intentionally positive and not just going through the motions.

Practicing gratitude is a big wake-up call for most of us concerning self awareness and must be done with clear purpose and focus on what matters most in your life. Developing healthy habits to cultivate a positive mindset is what you need to be able to decide positive outcomes in your life, or someone else will decide it for you. Avoid comparison and stop trying to be anything but YOU! Decide what you want out of your life and GO FOR IT!

Here’s how I start my day: “Today is going to be an amazing and magnificent day in my life!”

I recite that, no matter how I feel. I wake up loving the day and I start by saying, “Lord, thank you for giving me another day to my life and thank you in advance for blessing me with better health, wealth, happiness, love, and success.”  Claim it and receive it right off the bat!! This is always the beginning of my morning affirmation routine.

Surround yourself with motivating and uplifting contentI continue going into making my day happen with daily affirmations that I constantly bring to myself by plugging into some motivational music, videos, audio, etc. and a shot of my daily healthy drink routine. I would literally start putting my affirmations into motion. They would start motivating me to get ready for the day and start feeling good again about how I feel and look. In fact, how can we feel good and convince our team or partners to feel good about their day if we don’t do that for ourselves first?

Never allow negativity to rent space in your head. Make it a goal that your soul is on a budget and can’t afford stress, envy, negative vibes, doubt and deceit. Watch how your life will manifest from your affirmations and you will live out your days the way you want them. Also, your body will look forward to waking up in the morning.

Remember, it starts and ends with YOU and emanates to others. What you think about on a daily basis becomes your maximum potential. So start thinking positively and what better way than by surrounding yourself with positive messages and taking time to take care of the one thing you will carry with you for the rest of your life – YOU!
